Some ground rules.

These are set and enforced by the newsmast.social moderators.

1. Newsmast account holders must be at least 18 years old.
2. Impersonation
   Users are not allowed to assume someone else’s identity or that of other groups or organisations to mislead people.
3. Misinformation & Fake News
   Do not share false or misleading information, including medical claims that can’t be backed up or manipulating content with intent to mislead.
4. Defamation
   Do not make false statements about others that unjustly harm their reputation.
5. Hate Speech
   We don’t allow hate speech or the encouragement of violence for any reason. This includes promotion of so-called 'conversion therapy'.
6. Abuse, Harassment and Trolling
   Do not harass people or encourage harassment or abuse of any kind, including threats, degrading statements and making private details public without permission. Do not post or comment solely to offend or annoy. This includes targeted misgendering and deadnaming.
7. Fraud
   Do not attempt to generate traffic or revenue from fake lotteries, sweepstakes, giveaways, phishing links, or spamming. Do not use third-party apps to artificially distort your views, likes and comments.
8. Bot Account
   Bot accounts and other automated feeds must be marked as such, or be deleted. We impose a follow limit of 5,000 profiles and discourage excessive posting.
9. Graphic Content
   No gory or violent material is allowed.
10. Child Sexual Exploitation
    We will not tolerate content which includes or promotes grooming a child for sexual exploitation, sextorting a child, trafficking of a child for sex or otherwise sexually exploiting a child.
11. Child Sexual Abuse Material
    We will not tolerate indecent photography or pseudo-photography of a child under the age of 18 or content which simulates CSAM material with adult participants.
12. Encouraging Self-Harm
    Goading people into suicide or self-harm is strictly forbidden.
13. Terrorism
    Do not promote terrorism or violent extremism. 
14. Adult Content
    Adult content, including pornography, is not allowed, nor is non-consensual or underage sexual content.
15. Controlled Goods and Services
    Do not use Newsmast for illegal activities involving illicit goods or services.
16. Illegal Activity
    Promoting any kind of criminal activity is not allowed, including human exploitation, sex trafficking and the drugs trade.
